I've been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes since Nov 2016. My first A1c was 11.4. My second one was 6.9, thanks in large part to Steve and his app. My 3rd one will be in May.
I am an active guy, retired electrician. I still ride a bike 120 miles a week, as well as walk at least 30 miles during 3 other days. I kayak when I can. I currently have no other symptoms of T2D, other than some light tingling in my left foot / toes. As I continue to adjust my diet, that has decreased.
I hope to learn from those of you who have had this disease longer, and have managed to continue to live your life on your terms. It forces some changes, but it doesn't have to rule.

Just wanted to report that my May A1c was 6.3 Dr told me to return in 4 months, since I was doing so well. BP and Cholesterol were both also good. I am continuing my exercise program, and preparing for a backpack trip in New Hampshire in a few days. If anyone else drops in and wants to know more, let me know.

My Sept A1c was 5.8 I am controlling this by diet change, almost entirely. I have been diagnosed for 9 months now, and have gone from an 11.4 to a 5.8 by counting carbs and limiting them to 200g per day. I exercise by walking or riding a bicycle. 2-3 hours per day. I am retired, so there is plenty of time to do this. I did a 5 day backpack trip in June, and a 5 day bike trip in Sept. camping along the way. I only take Metformin twice a day, 500mg per dosage. I am hoping the Dr will discover I am doing well enough that even that can be reduced.
